Ottawa, Canada's capital city, is home to iconic federal government buildings and institution, such as the Parliament of Canada, the National Gallery of Canada, and Supreme Court of Canada to name a few. Being the heart of Canada's history and official governing establishments, these historic sites are certainly worth a trip. However, government buildings aren't all you'll find in the city, there's certainly no shortage of fun entertainment to enjoy!

Make the most of your visit to the nation's capital and check out these two upcoming events.

CityFolk

Calling all city and farm folk—the CityFolk Festival is coming to Landsdowne Park on September 12-15! CityFolk is a four-day festival celebrating diversity in music, dance, and community activities. This family-friendly affair showcases an eclectic range of genres from pop to folk and up-and-coming to renowned artists.

There's something for everyone! Kids can enjoy the BSOMA kids zone which has face painting, crafts, and more. Adults can check out the silent auction, food trucks, craft beer, artisan goods and of course the live performances. Grab your ticket before it sells out!

Beau's Oktoberfest

It's not quite October yet, but "Ontario's best micro/craft brewery" can certainly do what it wants. Beau's Beer is hosting its annual Oktoberfest on September 20 and 21 at Vankleek Hill. Beau's Oktoberfest has been around for over a decade, offering Bavarian-inspired dishes from local restaurants, an assortment of craft beer and ciders, and an impressive lineup of nationally-recognized Canadian performers.

There's much to do, eat, drink, and dance to at this jam-packed celebration. Performing artists include Shad, The New Pornographers, and Jenn Grant. Activities include a sausage eating contest, 'School of Bock' for beer nerds, a homebrew competition, charity bike ride, 'Midway' carnival games, and a Kinderfest for the little ones.

This Oktoberfest festival is a nod to the Bavarian inspiration that birthed Beau's Beer and serves as the brewery's largest annual fundraising event. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind festival!
