Although Halloween looks different this year, there won't be a shortage of fun and frights! Ottawa is keeping the Halloween spirit alive with three events that will satisfy even the most extreme Halloween fan and ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone.

Before the weather cools down, check out these events for a spooky October outing.

Fright Fest

From September 25 - November 1, experience Fright Fest "We All Wear Masks" edition at Saunders Farms, Canada's #1 haunted attraction. Saunders Farm is making sure you still get spooked this fall with a completely open-air haunting experience. The evening features three open-air haunts such as The Haunted Hayride, Coven, and The Shambles. The farm is operating at 2-10% capacity and following all COVID safety measures. Tickets must be pre-booked online ahead of time to control the number of visits.

Pumpkinferno

Attend this light festival—made of pumpkins! The popular Pumpkinferno returns this year from September 25-October 31. Gaze at over 7,000 lit, handcrafted pumpkins at this mesmerizing outdoor art exhibit. Enjoy a night stroll down a picturesque path, set to a 19-century backdrop at the Upper Canada Village, while appreciating a stunning art display of pumpkins. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Book your visit!

Billings Estate National Historic Site

What's more spine-chilling than walking through a cemetery late at night? For those who love a good fright, plan a visit to the Billings Estate National Historic site for a stroll through cemetery grounds. You can book a self-guided museum tour, guided grounds tour, and a farm chores activity kit.

On October 17, the Billings Estate is also hosting a one-day-only exclusive escape room theatre experience, presented by Live History. Head to the 1900s as you uncover a mystery full of webs of secrets, scandals, and hearsay, inspired by true events. Be sure to review the website for current COVID-19 protocols. Register ASAP to reserve your spot.

We at Best Western Ottawa City Centre want you to make the most of the fall season in Ottawa and still find fun amid uncertainty. Be safe, wear a mask, and enjoy your time!
