Is there anything better than eating poutine when it’s cold outside? We don’t think so, which is why we’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Ottawa Poutine Fest 2020. This year, the annual event is taking place for four whole days, between October 29 and November 1. So if you’re going to be in town on those days, then attending this food festival is an absolute must. Keep reading to learn all there is to know about Ottawa Poutine Fest 2020.

Ottawa Poutine Fest 2020 will see over 30 local vendors take over downtown Ottawa and offer up their favourite version of Canada’s unofficial national dish. The 2020 festival will be taking place at Ottawa City Hall (just over ten minutes by car from the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre).

Although we won’t know which specific poutine dishes we can look forward to until the event kicks off on Thursday, October 29, it’s safe to say that all attendees will be in for a treat. Creative dishes at previous year’s events have included buffalo chicken wing poutine, pogo poutine, chicken parmesan poutine, land and sea poutine featuring Atlantic lobster, shrimp, chunky bacon, handcrafted smoked meat, and hollandaise, and even butter chicken poutine. Needless to say, your tastebuds will be watering the moment you step into Ottawa City Hall.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get your curd on! Be sure to keep your ears peeled for that infamous “squeak.” After all, if the cheese doesn’t squeak, is it really poutine?

Ottawa Poutine Fest 2020 will be on from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on October 29 and 30, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on October 31, and from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm on November 1. The event is free of charge to attend. Attendees will just have to pay for whatever poutine dishes they choose to indulge in. Social distancing measures, as well as face masks will be mandatory.

If you plan on visiting the Canadian capital between October 29 and November 1, then be sure to book a room at the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre. We offer quality accommodation, top-notch amenities, and a convenient location right near Ottawa Poutine Fest 2020.
