Some people travel to explore historic sites, take in spectacular views, or to enjoy fine local cuisine. When visiting Ottawa, you can do all three. Canada's capital city is rich in history, surrounded by green space and rivers, and the city is always bustling with activities such as fun and entertaining festivals. If you're visiting Ottawa, check out one of the three festivals taking place this spring. It'll be a sweet, sweet, time.

Sugar Festival

The annual Sugar Festival is a long-standing tradition in Ottawa, dating back to 1987. This sweets-focused festival offers many activities that feature maple syrup and celebrates major aspects of Canadian culture including our customs and traditions, music, sports and much more. Savour a hearty breakfast of pancakes and sausages, pet farm animals, see sled dogs, get your face painted, view fine arts and crafts, and participate in the Splash Soup competition. From March 30 - April 5, festival attendees can get the full Canadiana experience through this special annual event.

Maple Syrup Fun

Spring is all about the sugar bush. From February 15 - April 19, make your way over to Fulton's Family Farm to enjoy the Pancake House & Sugar Bush. Experience an authentic and traditional Sugar Bush during the maple season in Ontario with a taste of organic syrup. Guests can see how maple syrup is harvested and order fluffy pancakes and a full hearty breakfast all topped with the liquid gold. Make sure to plan your visit today!

Crave Food & Wine Festival

On April 4 & 5, head on over to the Shaw Centre to enjoy the local food and wine scene. The Crave Food & Wine Festival is Ottawa's newest premier event celebrating Ottawa's best culinary offerings in food and drink. The festival features an immersive experience spotlighting the city's finest chefs and wine connoisseurs.

In the week leading up to the festival, locals, visitors and food enthusiasts can participate in masterclasses and events hosted at participating restaurants, breweries, and distilleries. Make sure to plan for an activity-filled week and purchase your tickets to one or all of the Crave events. You can buy your tickets online today.
